The Quorum Court of Craighead County, Jonesboro, AR, met in regular session, at 7:00 p.m. on July 25, 2011 in the Craighead County Courthouse Annex with Judge Ed Hill presiding.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Justice Weinstock and recited by all.

Judge Hill called the meeting to order and a prayer was offered by Justice Couch. A roll call vote was taken by Clerk Nancy Nelms. The following justices were present: Justice Stacks, Bowers, Bryant, Hendrix, Weinstock, Hoke, Tennison, Suiter, Hawkins, Blankenship, Couch and Cox. Also present were
Tony Thomas from the County Judge’s office and Ray Whiteside of the Jonesboro Sun.
A motion was made by Justice Weinstock and seconded by Justice Hoke to accept the April, 2011 minutes as read.

Justice Stacks read the minutes of the last Public Service Committee meeting.
Justice Bryant read the minutes of the last Finance and Administration committee meeting.
The minutes of the last Roads and Transportation Committee meeting were read by Justice Couch.
There was no old business to discuss.

Judge Hill reported that work on the Bono Lake is progressing well. He said lots of dirt had been moved recently. There has been dirt located on land owned by Cleo Watkins that has tested good for the project.
The county judge also reported that work on a bridge to cross the railroad tracks at the site of the old Bono Bridge is looking positive. If agreed upon, the construction of this bridge would be paid 80% federally, 18% state and 2% by the county.

Judge Hill also reported that the pavement on County Road 403 in the southern part of the county is complete and looks well. It now also has the striping complete.
The first and only item of new business was a proposed resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REAPPOINTMENTS OF TWO
BOARD MEMBERS TO THE CRAIGHEAD COUNTY EQUALIZATION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

A motion was made by Justice Couch to accept the proposed resolution. A
second was made by Justice Stacks.

Clerk Nelms took a roll call vote with all justices present voting in favor of the
measure.

Craighead County resolution 2011-9 passed unanimously which would reappoint
Phil Bridger and Ben Overman to the Craighead County Board of Equalization.
There was then some discussion by Judge Hill and the court members regarding
the article in the Jonesboro Sun which reported work on a walking trail around the
Bono Lake which is still under construction. Judge Hill reported that it was being
worked on and the progress would depend on elevation as to how large it would
need to be. There will be more reports later on this subject.
With no further business to discuss, a motion was made by Justice Hawkins and
seconded by Justice Bryant.

The motion passed and therefore the Craighead County Quorum Court stood
adjourned until August 22, 2011.
