quorum court minutes september 26, 2011

The Craighead County Quorum Court met in regular session on September 26, 2011 at 7 p.m. in the Craighead County judge’s conference room with all members present with the exception of Justice Cox.  Also present was Wayland Harris of the Jonesboro Sun, Lee Quessenberry, Greg Chance of KASU, and a few other county citizens.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and Justice Render offered prayer to open the meeting.

Justice Stacks made a motion, seconded by Justice Weinstock, to accept the minutes of the August minutes.  All voted in favor and the minutes were approved.

Justice Stacks reported on the Public Service Committee meeting.

Justice Bryant reported on the Finance Committee meeting.

Justice Couch reported on the Roads Committee meeting.

There being no Old Business to discuss, Judge Hill introduced Lee Quessenberry.  He is with the company Irish Ninjas and has been working with the county’s computer department on designing the county’s new webpage.  The webpage was shown to the court and all the information it contained.  Everyone was impressed with the webpage.

The next item of New Business was a proposed appropriation ordinance entitled:

     AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2011 ANNUAL OPERATING BUDGET TO TRANSFER

     FUNDS FROM CONTRACT LABOR, ACCOUNT 4 TO PART-TIME HELP ACCCOUNT 2,

     FUND 9, COUNTY CLERK AUTOMATION FUND WITH NO NEW MONIES BEING

     APPROPRIATED

Justice Weinstock made the motion, seconded by Justice Bryant, to accept the ordinance.  All voted in favor and Appropriation Ordinance 2011-10 was accepted.  Clerk Nelms thanked the court for allowing her office to complete adding some of the older records into the computer.

With no further business to come before the court, Justice Stacks made the motion, seconded by Justice Weinstock, to adjourn.  Motion passed and the Craighead County Quorum Court stood adjourned until October 24th, 2011 at 7 p.m.
